Formed in November 2021, Verminthrone are a five piece sludgecore/groove metal crossover band hailing from Buckinghamshire. Influences range from Eyehategod, Lamb of God, Power Trip, Satyricon and Entombed.

Verminthrone have a reputation for being ruthlessly intense and energetic from start to finish. Along with their own headline shows, they have earned support slots for Sikth, Eyehategod, Raging Speedhorn, Mastiff, Tuskar and Hang the Bastard. They opened Desertfest 2025 with a packed out Devonshire Arms in Camden after a UK tour in early 2025 with Hammer and Swarms.

Their debut EP, Kingdom of Worms, was released in July 2022 ahead of performing at Bloodstock Festival with the likes of Behemoth, Mercyful Fate and Lamb of God. This was only their 5th ever show after winning the coveted 'metal 2 the masses' competition for unsigned metal bands. The title song 'Intruder' was used by Bloodstock in their promo/highlights video.

The band re entered the studio in September 2023 to record their debut album 'The Cull' with Tom Dring (Venom Prison, Dvne, Dragged into Sunlight and many more) being the producer at The Arch Studios. 'The Cull' was unleashed on 16th February 2024 and achieved top 40 in the worldwide doom chart.

Progressing their heavy, dirty, miserable sound, Verminthrone returned to The Arch in October 2025, with Tom Dring once again at the helm, to record 'Feast of the Serpent'. Released in December 2025, the band have continued to do shows in support of its release.

In 2026, while the band have continued to play across the UK they have Europe in their sights with a tour planned for October covering Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Slovakia.
